José Cardoso is a filmmaker focused on surrealism, consciousness, and anti-colonialism. Father of Seydú, he has received international recognition for his work, including Iwianch, The Devil Deer (2021), What the Soil Remembers (2023), and Flowers (2024). His films have been awarded at IFFR Rotterdam, Ann Arbor, Sheffield, and selected at Sitges, Havana, Oberhausen, among others.
